Bow Valley Housing Conversation: Banff Morning Session

  • Catharine Robb Whyte Building, Pioneer Room 101 Bear Street Banff, AB, T1L 1H3 Canada (map)

Housing in the Bow Valley,

Let's Talk About It.

A facilitated community conversation. Banff. Tuesday June 16, 9:30–11:30am.

The survey captures the numbers. This conversation captures everything else.

We're hosting a series of small-group discussions across the Bow Valley to go deeper on what housing really looks like here, the pressures, the gaps, and what needs to change. These sessions are informal, confidential, and facilitated by the Rural Development Network.

No preparation needed. No expertise required. Just your honest experience of housing in this region.

What to Expect

You'll be joining a small group of Bow Valley residents for a guided conversation about local housing, costs, conditions, availability, and what a better system could look like. Sessions are structured but informal. Every voice in the room carries equal weight.

The Rural Development Network facilitation team will guide the discussion. Your responses contribute directly to a housing toolkit being developed for developers, landlords, employers, and housing operators across the region.

This session is open to anyone who lives, works, or has lived in the Bow Valley. We're especially hoping to hear from:

  • Renters and people in staff or employer-tied housing

  • Workers balancing long commutes due to housing costs

  • Newcomers and recent arrivals to the region

  • 2SLGBTQIA+ community members

  • Anyone who has struggled to find or keep housing here

You do not need to be a member of any organization or identify in any particular way to participate.

About This Project
